Panadura South Police abducted( today -25th May 2012) a man who came to appear in a case at the Magistrate Court, Panadura.
U.L. Pathmasiri, 30 years old married with two children, came in the morning to appear in the Magistrate Court today (25.05.2012). He had two cases against him for manufacturing unauthorized liquor and waited in the Court. At about 12.45 pm the Court was adjourned for lunch and as he too wanted to have a cup of tea, he went out to the nearby boutique. His wife, mother and two relatives accompanied him. As they came near the main entrance, three policemen grabbed him, pushed him into the police jeep forcibly and took to the Panadura South Police Station. The policemen attached to Pnadura South Police were identified as Meeral, Ranawaka and Herath. Immediately his wife followed the jeep to the Panadura South Police Station and at the gate she was barred from entering the Police Station. At that moment a policemen called Nayanajith came near her and told that she will be allowed to see her husband only after proper treatment were given to him.
